City youngsters to enjoy unique golf festival at British Masters
The Golf Foundation is excited to be hosting a fun golf festival for 60 Birmingham youngsters from the city’s community groups, at the Betfred British Masters on Saturday 7th May. Staged thanks to the DP World Tour at the iconic Belfry venue, the festival celebrates the inclusion of golf in the ‘Bring it on Brum’ programme for the second year running. In 2021, over 500 children from 14 different youth organisations in Birmingham enjoyed introductory golf sessions as part of the government funded Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, also backed by Manchester United and England star Marcus Rashford. Bring it on Brum reached boys and girls of all abilities from a range of community and faith groups across the city.
The golf festival at The Belfry will see children show off their new golf skills while soaking up the buzz and atmosphere of a major DP World Tour professional tournament at The Belfry (famed for hosting the Ryder Cup on four occasions). For the majority of children, it will be their first visit to a large scale professional golf event.
Working with the Golf Foundation’s partner StreetGames, and with support from The R&A and the DP World Tour, the charity looks forward to making this year’s Bring it on Brum golf activity bigger and better.
