The Big Night In – A Few Holes Out

Your chance to help national junior golf charity the Golf Foundation continue to change young lives.

Our team at the Golf Foundation hopes that you and your family are safe and well in these challenging times. As a UK charity that provides life-changing opportunities for young people through golf, we are hugely grateful for your support in this mission and hope we can all return to golf on the fairways and in our schools as soon as possible.

We have been inspired by the clips, pictures and stories you have shared on social media recently around #GolfatHome and the #LockdownKnockdown. Check out our latest skills challenge hosted by the Jazzy Golfer – called #6forSixes.

As our charity works to inspire more children to ‘Start, Learn and Stay’ in golf we have something very exciting to share with you.

The Covid-19 pandemic is having a catastrophic effect on UK charities leading to an estimated loss of £4 billion for the sector. Charities, like ours, depend on income from fundraising, and we traditionally raise vital funds in golf clubs, at golf events and through golfing activity – all avenues which are currently closed to the Golf Foundation.

26 April would have been the London Marathon, always a landmark day in the charity calendar. In an attempt to fill this void, and do something which will lift the spirits of the nation, the UK’s mass participation sports event industry has come together to create ‘The 2.6 Challenge’, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK’s Charities. The 2.6 Challenge invites the public to dream up, and complete an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and then fundraise or donate to their chosen charity to help Save the UK’s Charities.

The official 2.6 Challenge website can be found at www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk and this will be accompanied by a significant public awareness campaign running up to the 26th April. There is also incredible support building for this campaign including from UK government, Sport England, BBC, Institute of Fundraising, Virgin Money Giving and JustGiving and a whole host of businesses, celebrities and high profile individuals. The 2.6 Challenge will feature as part of the BBC’s Big Night In on 23rd April – TONIGHT!

The Golf Foundation has registered with the fundraising platforms associated with this event and will be one of the charities to benefit. It would be wonderful to have your support.

In line with the number of holes that you might play on a golf course, we are simply asking for a donation on a golfing theme!

Please would you consider donating £6, £9, £18 or even £36 to the Golf Foundation by following this link to JustGiving.

You can find out more about our work on our impact page.

Thank you for your support.
